On April 24, 2004, by the decision of the Tbilisi State Medical University Methodical Council and the Rectorate, in order to increase the efficiency of teaching-methodical, scientific and medical, as well as clinical activities in the university, the "Central Laboratory of Clinical Skills" was established at TSMU (order N25/O. see the appendix). Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor Dinara Kasradze was appointed as director.
With the great efforts of the Medical University, the clinical skills training laboratory was initially equipped with the latest medical simulators and other training tools produced by the international corporation "3B Scientific". This corporation is a world leader in the production of manikins, task-trainers and simulators (Hamburg, Germany).
In various periods in the Center worked and have been still working : Giorgi Adamashvili, Vakhtang Kaloyani (reanimatologists), Kakha Kuntelia, Ilia Meskhi, Giorgi Mikaberidze (surgeons), Maka Mirziashvili, Tinatin Kilasonia (ophthalmologists), Nino Kantaria, Ia Avaliani, Pirdara Nozadze (therapists) ), Nato Meckhvarishvili, Eka Shvelashvili, Natia Pkhaladze (obstetricians-gynecologists) and others.
In 2008, the Central Laboratory of Clinical Skills, as one of the departments, joined the Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine of TSMU (Director - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Zurab Kakabadze, employees - Doctors of Medicine/Technology: Eka Berishvili, Levan Benashvili, Irakli Amiranashvili , Kote Kalandarishvili and others).
Since 2010, the laboratory of clinical skills has become an independent unit and Professor Dinara Kasradze has been appointed as its head.
Khatuna Lomauri and Mzia Tsiklauri (pediatricians), Dali Chitaishvili, Eka Shvelashvili and Natia Pkhaladze (gynecologists), Nana Jikidze, Giorgi Kvitsinadze (reanimatologists), Elene Mirziashvili, Tinatin Kilasonia (ophthalmologists), Lia Lomidze, Irina Kekelidze (otolaryngologists) worked at the center at different times. ), Pirdara Nozadze, Medea Jgharkawa (internal medicine), Lela Baindurashvili and Mariam Mazanashvili (radiologists), Manana Mamamtavrishvili (laboratory assistant), Giorgi Zazadze (technical assistant).
Since October 2011, the laboratory of clinical skills has been headed by Professor Irma Manjavidze.
According to the resolution N 23/3 of the meeting of the representative council of Tbilisi State Medical University dated February 8, 2012, the laboratory of clinical skills has been functioning since February 2012 - with the status of the center of clinical skills. The operation of the center was determined in accordance with the statute.
Since September 2014, the Clinical Skills Department has been operating in the Clinical Skills Center.
From April 2018, by the decision of the Academic Council of Tbilisi State Medical University, the name of the center was changed to "Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulation Center".
