Clinical Center of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation was established in 2008 as an integral part of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Faculty of Tbilisi State Medical University. Besides the clinical purposes, the activity of the center includes under- and postgraduate education.
Medical personnel of the clinical centre with outstanding professionalism and qualification successfully combine clinical practice, teaching and research activities – each of them work with athletes of various sporting disciplines, among them elite athletes, and sport teams. Herewith, physicians of the clinical center being members of the sports cardiology working group of European Association of Preventive Cardiology with their research activities permanently contribute to local and international scientific forums.

Clinical center has established important relations with International Federation of Sports Medicine, European Association of Sports Medicine, German Association of Sports Medicine and Prevention, medical Committee of European Judo Federation, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Centre of Tartu University, Moldova National Center of Sports Medicine, European Society of Cardiology and European Association of Preventive Cardiology, International Council of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation. The Clinical center organizes various scientific events on a regular basis, participates in the local and international congresses and seminars as well as closely collaborates with Georgian National Olympic Committee, Georgian Ministry of Culture and Sports, and with most of the Georgian sporting clubs and sports federations.
