The conference

On September 20, 2018 (at 10:00) the conference - "Tbilisi State Medical University - 100 Years of Medical Education in Georgia" will be held at Tbilisi State Medical University. The conference will be dedicated to the issues of medical education:  preparing a health care workforce for the 21st century and acquiring necessary competences, global and national standards for undergraduate and postgraduate education and continuous professional development as well as new sectoral benchmarks in medicine.

The presentation on " Producing Doctors for the 21 Century " will be made by Professor Trudie Roberts, President of the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE), Director of the Leeds Institute of Medical Education, University of Leeds (UK). The presentations will be also made by: Prof. Zaza Bokhua First Deputy Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia; Prof. Ramaz Shengelia, Head of TSMU Department of History of Medicine; prof. Gaiane Simonia, Head of TSMU Department of Medical Education, Research and Strategic Development; Prof. Tinatin Chikovani, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Irma Manjavidze Director of the TSMU Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulation Center; and Prof. Givi Javashvili Head of TSMU Department of Family Medicine.
