On February 25, 2019, Mr.Zviad Gabisonia, General Director of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia held a meeting with TSMU academic personnel and researchers. The meeting was aiming at introduction of current and planned innovations, projects and initiatives of LEPL Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia and  the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia for 2019 to professors and researchers of Tbilisi State Medical University. At the meeting, Mr. Zviad Gabisonia emphasized the accents those that should be addressed in nearest future: promotion of science in the country, increasing the number of international researches, promoting collaboration between scientific and industrial sectors, enhancing involvement of economic sector in scientific research activities to activate producing applied research and turn them into commercial transfers. He also introduced the amendments having been already implemented by Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia or planned to implement in the nearest future.  Among them should be emphasized:  membership of pan-European research space and moving to the open platform, simplifying technical criteria of proposal submission, creation of training center for grant applications management for training of the representatives of the Universities, increasing access to the scientific research databases for the universities (including Elsevier- and Clarivate analytics), establishing Scholarships for young researchers.
