Open Doors Day at Tbilisi State Medical University

On March 2, 2019, Open Doors Day for prospective students and their parents was held at Tbilisi State Medical University where Georgian, English and Russian programs of International Faculty of Medicine, Faculties of Stomatology Dentistry, Pharmacy, Public Health and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation were presented, as well as US MD Program,  Nursing and Occupational programs. Prospective students were acquainted with the requirements and procedures necessary for admission at different faculties of Tbilisi State Medical University.

The event was full of many interesting practical and interactive activities provided by TSMU First University Clinic, TSMU G. Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic, TSMU A. Urushadze Dental Clinic, TSMU I. Kutateladze Pharmacochemistry Institute, TSMU V. Bakhutashvili Institute of Medical Biotechnology and TSMU Student Self-Governance, along with university faculties.

The prospective students were able to get acquainted with the activities related to resuscitation and intensive therapy, dental cabinet, pharmaceutical mini-plant, they saw primary aid master classes, manipulations on modern dummies: cupping bleeding, injection and other practical activities. They also received information on preventing infections of influenza and measles.

TSMU Student Self-Government has provided interactive games for school children that included issues on natural sciences as well as the ones related to the university as a whole. The winners were given medical accessories and symbolic gifts of the university.

The prospective students and their parents had the opportunity to meet and interact firsthand with Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, who made a presentation on ongoing academic process, student life, infrastructural projects, and exchange programs at the University. The questions of prospective students interested in studying at TSMU were answered by the representatives of National Assessment and Examinations Center for the answers.
