თბილისში „სტუდენტური ფესტივალი 2019“ გაიხსნა

Student Festival 2019 Launched in Tbilisi

The fourth Student Festival was opened by Mamuka Bakhtadze, the Prime Minister of Georgia and Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi. The rectors of various Georgian universities and Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University attended the official opening ceremony of the festival.  The project is supported by Tbilisi City Hall, Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia and Georgian Students’ Associations.

A "College town" has been set up in the territory adjacent to Olympic Park and will last until May 16, bringing together 36 Georgian Higher Education Institutions and nearly 50,000 Georgian and International students. A 10-day festival includes twenty different cultural, athletic and sport activities. The festival involves competitive (sport: football, basketball, volleyball and cultural: Georgian National Dance, modern dance and folk songs) and non-competitive (ethno cultural exhibition, sport: cricket and badminton and exhibition of entrepreneur students work) activities. More than 5000 international students from 60 international countries will be involved in the festival, aiming to better present their cultural identity and introduce to Georgian students. The project aims to promote a healthy lifestyle, diverse student life as well as giving students’ opportunity for self-expression.

TSMU intends to be actively involved in the festival and present groups of students in various cultural and sport activities. The jury will announce the winner universities at the closing ceremony of the festival.
