Final Concert of TSMU Folk Song and Dance Ensemble at Capital City Club (Atlanta, USA)

On March 28, TSMU Folk Song and Dance Ensemble held a final concert at the Capital City Club a historic public club in the center of Atlanta (USA). The evening was dedicated to memory of Emory University Professor, Honorary Citizen of Tbilisi and Georgia, Honorary Doctor of TSMU, Ken Walker. The event was hosted by Tbilisi State Medical University and Emory University School of Medicine. Among the invited guests were the leading doctors and professors of the state of Georgia (USA). Most of the guests, Professor Walker's friends and colleagues, took a number of memorable photos with the future colleagues dressed in Georgian traditional costumes. The Capital City Club is a private social club located in Atlanta, Georgia founded in 1883, it is one of the oldest clubs in the South. Among the members of the club are: John Grant, President of the club since 1910. The outstanding member of the Club is Henry Grady, who has contributed greatly to the foundation of the Memorial Hospital in Atlanta as well as many sportsmen, political and public figures. The downtown Atlanta Capital City Club was designed by Beaux-Arts-trained architect Donn Barber. Since its foundation, the club has been used for significant receptions and parties. Notable individuals, including several presidents of the United States and royalty from other nations, have been guests at the Capital City Club. The place where the concert was held is the club's largest hall. The evening at Capital City Club dedicated to the memory of Professor Kenneth Walker was opened by documentary film, after which TSMU Folk Song and Dance Ensemble gave unforgettable performance. The Ensemble has enjoyed great acclaim. At the end of the evening, well-known physicians working in Atlanta shared their impressions with the hosts and journalists and were planning to meet with the ensembles in Georgia.
