On May 5, 2019, innovatively equipped Department of Critical Care Medicine was opened at TSMU First University Clinic. The department is certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and equipped with twenty hospital beds and modern laboratory.

TSMU First University Clinic was established in 2015. TSMU students and residents are engaged in practical medical work at TSMU First University Clinic. The multi-profile and technologically advanced clinic is the base for nearly twenty teaching departments of the Tbilisi State Medical University.
