6th International Congress of Georgian Respiratory Association in Batumi

The 6th International Congress of Georgian Respiratory Association, organized by Tbilisi State Medical University, Medical Corporation "Evex" and Adjara Government and under the patronage of the chair, Zurab Pataradze   was held in Batumi from 28 June to 30 June 2018. 

President of the Congress - Professor Ivane Chkhaidze Head of N4 Department of Pediatrics of Tbilisi State Medical University. Attendees: Professor Zurab Vadachkoria Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, University Professors, undergraduate- and postgraduate students.

1100 delegates from 30 countries, including 43 speakers from Europe, America, Africa and Asia, most of whom are world-class scientists, participated in the 6th International Congress of Georgian Respiratory Association.

The Congress was opened in Batumi Art Center. Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University addressed an audience with welcome speech. Within the framework of the Congress, 90 presentations on all aspects of respiratory medicine were represented at 24 symposiums organized in parallel: oncology and surgery, critical medicine and infectious diseases, pediatrics and neonatology, as well as allergies, pulmonary chronic diseases, tuberculosis and asthma. Together with international colleagues the reports were made by Professors of Tbilisi State Medical University. 

After the Congress, on July 1, the run for health with the slogan - "Run more, breathe more, live longer" was arranged. It is important to emphasize that Georgian Respiratory Association is a member of FERS-Forum of European Respiratory Society.  In 2009, for a special contribution to the development of Medicine, the Georgian Respiratory Association has been awarded a special prize at General Assembly of the World Health Organization.
