The 24th Meeting of the Society in Europe for Simulation Applied to Medicine (SESAM)

From June 27 to June 29, 2018, Professor Irma Manjavidze, Director of the TSMU Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulation Center, visited Bilbao (Spain) to participate in the 24th Annual Meeting of the Society in Europe for Simulation Applied to Medicine (SESAM). Prof. Manjavidze also attended so-called "Pre-Hospital Special Interest Group Party", which serves to create European network of professionals dedicated to simulation in the field of pre-hospital emergency care.

SESAM 2018 Annual Meeting was attended by more than 850 participants from more than 50 countries around the world. SESAM - is the European largest organization, staffed by professionals. Participants of the meeting presented their experiences in implementing  simulations in medical education system.

Professor Irma Manjavidze made a report on the activities carried out by TSMU Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulation Center. Participants passed training course - "Best Practice for Using Standardized Patient Methodology", organized by the Association of Standardized Patient Educators (ASPE) . They also had the opportunity to get acquainted with the new generation of simulators/mulages, their advantages and digital simulated educational programmes. At the meeting with Dr. Ulufer Sivriskaya, secretary of the Society in Europe for Simulation Applied to Medicine (SESAM) Professor Irma Manjavidze discussed the future plans concerning to the international accreditation of the Center and establishment of the Association of Simulation Training in Georgia.
